Summer Stroll March
Summer Stroll March
Based on the marches of Karl King and John Philips Sousa, this is a great way to learn the lyrical elements of the march style.
The piece is composed in a fairly traditional march structure with a first and second strain followed by a trio and “dog fight”, wrapping up with a repeat strain in octaves. The arrangement presumes the color and character of a wind band, with a strong high brass opening, contrasting delicate woodwind trio, and powerful low brass response before the final strain.
